New Plants vs. Zombies parody ads, new Evony ad!

plantsvszombies-towersThis Evony ad thing keeps getting more interesting! PopCap has released a second round of Plants vs. Zombies parody ads (thanks, Offworld!), this time poking fun at the most absurd ad of the bunch. Also, I stumbled upon a new ad for Evony that’s even more trashy than the others! It’s like they’ve reached the point where they honestly don’t care, so whatever they can toss on a JPEG is fair game. Sheesh.

Companies will use sex to sell products, that’s inevitable. But usually it makes sense in light of what they’re selling. If you’re marketing an RPG game you’ll probably put a big bosomed female warrior on the cover with an equally bosomed shirtless guy. Evony, however, isn’t using sex to sell, it’s using sex to trick you into clicking. That’s not cool. I will concede, however, that the 18-35 male demographic is one of the most difficult groups for marketers to reach, and that’s the bunch these ads are aiming for. When you have a game, you want it to stand out from the crowd. Ads with images that have nothing to do with your game tend to do that. No press is bad press, right?

Check below the break for the Plants vs. Zombies ads as well as the NSFW Evony image.
